For a relaxed, laid back setting, this is a modern and less formal heading. Suitable for all fabrics but ideal for light curtains. Often used for unlined voiles or sheer curtains that are rarely opened or decorative drapes that are rarely closed as tab tops may not glide along the rod easily. A visually impactful style when used with traditional timber poles. A rod with decorative finials enhances this treatment. Back tab curtains can also be part of an elegant window dressing when used under a valance or pelmet.
Loops of fabric material are sewn at the back on top of the curtain at regular intervals. The curtains hang from these tabs hidden on the back by feeding the rod through the loops. When you slip the rod through the back tabs, the upper edge of the curtain covers the rod. This style gives a seamless look, top to bottom, that can fit any decor, from modern to traditional. When open, the tabs create pleats that have a nice drape, but aren’t too formal. Like Grommet Curtains, tab tops can't run past the pole support brackets, so may not be suitable as very wide curtains. Double Pinch Pleat Curtains Full, formal & elegant. Double pinch pleat drapes create a more formal tailored look and because of the depth of the pleat, suit a long curtain and a bold pattern or sumptuous material like velvet. Double pinch pleat curtains carry the same attractive uniform finish to curtains as triple pleat pinch drapes but with only two pinches in every pleat. Pleats are created by making folded creases in the stiff buckram and pinched together one or two inches from the top of the drape, like a V shape, that then flow down in a tailored fashion. Hooks are then inserted directly into the back of the heading. As pinch pleat is a 'fixed' heading (the pleats are sewn by hand to a fixed heading and fitted with hooks and cannot be loosened), it is important to provide an accurate track/pole width when ordering pinch pleats. This will allow us to gather your curtains to the correct width.
